How to Get Ready and How it Works |
Bring a Friendly Winning Attitude! |

Attitude: Bring a good attitude, be ready early, rested, positive, relaxed and looking forward to getting a great image of yourself. A positive attitude is essential and is what is in your control, I can look after the rest. Clothing: Wear well fitted clothing that is consistent with the role you are portraying. Keep it Simple: Generally avoid overly bright colours, fine stripes or fine patterns as these can cause problems with some images. Also, strongly patterned or shiny fabrics can be very distracting. In general, keep jewellery and accessories simple and low key, unless you are always exuberant in this department (and it fits the business image). Men: Clean shaven, designer stubble or beards are fine. But there is an in-between zone that doesn't work well for the camera. Haircut a few days before really helps. Women: Light makeup works well - go more strongly with makeup if you are sure it works (it is easier to retouch light makeup than to undo the effects of excess poorly applied makeup). If in doubt, we will bring in a professional hair and makeup artist. There are exceptions: If your corporate colour is lime green, lime green it is. If your business distinguishes itself as irreverent and creative, the photography, what you wear and how you present will reflect that. Don't Don't party heavily the night before or engage in activities you know will make you feel off-colour. |
How it Works Time in front of the camera ranges from a few minutes to up to an hour, though I often get the shot within the first five! Location photography, involves setup which can take 30 minutes and another 15-20 is for takedown. If the photography is on your premises, I need SPACE! A larger meeting, or boardroom will do, without the boardroom table in the middle - check with me if you are in doubt. I don't mind moving the odd chair, but office relocations are not my thing. Please also help me with parking if it is difficult in your area. You will need to ensure that all people who are going to be photographed are ready when needed. Ask me if you are unsure of how much time is required. Checking Images: You will be able to check photos on the camera as we shoot, or at the end of the shoot on laptop. There is the opportunity to try again if either of us are not satisfied. If I need to come back another time, however, that is another photoshoot and will be charged. Selecting Images: If you are decisive, you can make up your mind about which images to have mastered at the end of the shoot. The alternative is that we will create an online proofing gallery for you to choose the images at your leisure - just email us the image numbers once you have made up your mind. Often my clients have trouble picking the best of several images and ask me to select the best one from a shortlist. |
