High Resolution Master Images are scaled to A5 @ 300 dpi for The Business and A4 @ 300 dpi for The Individual packages. In both cases larger image sizes are available if needed.

These are the images from which all other versions are created, hence the title "Master Image"

We supply the Master Images in a lossless TIF format. We can also supply images in JPG format which loses a small amount of detail to reduce file size.

The high resolution images are supplied in your choice of RGB (Red, Green, Blue) colour profile:

  • sRGB 1966 2.1 - windows and photoshop default colour with broadest usage but a constrained colour gamut (range of colours)
  • Adobe 1998 RGB - professional colour standard with larger colour gamut for use by designers and those who use professional software and computer monitor calibration
  • we also supply Apple RGB if required.


sRGB image on left should appear correctly, other images show results of using Adobe RGB, Apple RGB and Wide Gamut RGB without correctly used colour management.

High Resolution CMYK Print Images are an optional extra and are specifically set up to be used in brochures, business cards, booklets and similar printed materials without any colour or profile change.

 

  

Printers always ask for CMYK (Cyan, Yellow, Magenta, blacK) as these are the colours their printing presses use.

CMYK images will be set-up to the commonly used US Web Coated (SWOP) v2 profile unless otherwise requested. There is no CMYK profile that works perfectly in all cases as they are specific to printing presses, printing plates and to paper stock.

Web & Computer Images are designed to be viewed on computer monitors, be easily emailed and used in applications such as power point, or embedded in word documents. These images are not intended for high quality printing.

They are 600 pixels on the long axis (or you tell us which size), scaled to 72 dpi, re-sharpened (see image and notes below) and are supplied as high quality jpg files in windows default sRGB colour.

blurs them slightly and a bit of re-sharpening really lifts them.
