“My passion is to expand the boundaries of the earliest form of the camera – the camera obscura and pinhole camera. I am reinventing these ancient cameras by repurposing my own and other people’s trash to create a treasury of award-winning images. Check them out.
Trash Cam I
This camera received a Highly Commended award in the 2023 Northern Beaches Environmental Art Prize and one of its first photographs won the Local Artist Prize in the 2023 Remagine Environmental Art Prize. Other photographs gained finalist status in other art competitions.
Trash Cam II
TC II, like its predecessor, was a finalist in the 2024 Northern Beaches Environmental Art Prize and its photos won the photo category of the 2024 Hornsby Art Prize and placed in finals of 4 competitions including the Mullins Contemporary Prize..
Trash Cam III
TC III, here is like a young bird learning to fly. Transported on a repurposed walker, I call this camera "The Age of Consumerism," contrasting the 1960s' Age of Aquarius, wondering what age comes after the age of consumerism.
